What is coaching?
When you were a small child your parents and family probably focussed on you, encouraged you to take your first steps, applauded your learning and your curiosity as you acquired new skills. Now, as an adult, no-one replaces that level of intensity but often we still need that encouragement.
A coach believes in you, encourages you, gives you valuable feedback, helps you to see things from new perspectives and focuses you on new horizons.
Coaching is not a training course nor is it the picture of the sports coach yelling at his or her team from the sidelines. How would you feel if you acquired the mixture of:
- A mentor – someone who believes in you and helps you to move to larger goals
- A personal trainer who will keep you moving
- A manager who will break the big picture down into achievable steps
- The sports coach whose feedback may tweak the way that you do things so that your performance improves?
Most coaching is over a period of time, targetted on your needs and helping you to develop new skills, ways of thinking and habits.
In America, and increasingly in the United Kingdom, successful people have coaches. They recognise that you need to take a step back from the day to day, spend time concentrating on yourself and what is really important to you, in order to gain the inspiration to succeed.
You can choose whether you would prefer to work with a male or female coach. We were both trained by the internationally renowned Results Coaching Systems (now the Neuroleadership Institute) but bring our different personalities and perspectives to our clients. However, we both share a caring, enthusiastic approach in which we will support and encourage you with your challenges and celebrate your successes.
To make lasting changes usually takes 12 sessions of an hour each. We would suggest that these are fortnightly, spread over six months. In that way you will get the best return on your investment.
Our clients have told us that they found working with us ‘life changing’.
We will be delighted to have an introductory discussion, for up to an hour. This will explain coaching and establish whether we can work effectively together. There is no charge for this session.
